How it works

Before. During. After.

HardStop is the bot version of the pause. Before the moment arrives, it already knows you. When it arrives, it interrupts in Telegram — where the impulse already reaches you. After, the bot asks whether it passed, and the dashboard keeps the record.

i.Before

A quiet record of who you've been.

Onboarding takes seven steps and gives the bot enough to recognize you. It's not a profile to perform against — it's the version of yourself the bot reads back when the impulse fires, so the pushback knows exactly what to push back on.

ii.During

When the moment arrives, something arrives with it.

You open Telegram and tap /stop. The bot asks what's pulling at you and answers with a message written for that exact loop, in the tone you picked. Long enough for your real self to come back into the room. Short enough to read at the moment of impulse.

The thing you opened it for is still where you left it. Close the tab. Two minutes with the work in front of you, then re-check if it still wants attention. It usually doesn't.

iii.After

What happened. What it cost.

The dashboard tracks every catch, whether you finished the cooldown, and whether the impulse passed. Not as a streak counter — as evidence. Patterns surface that you couldn't see from the inside: that Tuesday nights are your hardest stretch, that some weeks hold more than others, that the loop is winnable.
